We renovate the pool.
Summer is over and the pool season is over too. That’s why we take the opportunity to change it! Yes! As you read: WE RENEW THE POOL.

We installed a swimming pool in Villa Bella Estança in May 1996. Before that, there was none. That’s when my parents inherited the house, decided to make it even better, and had it installed.
It’s been almost 26 years since that, and since then, the pool has undergone some changes, but never a major renovation like this.
We had changed the Liner, which is the plastic that pretends to be the pool tile several times. Also the engine, because it had broken down, and even once we had to re-cement it, because through the roots of the pines, the water filtered in and emptied itself.
But it hasn’t been until now that we’ve decided to renovate it almost one hundred percent, and I say almost, because the size of the pool remains the same. The dimensions of 6 meters long by three wide will remain the same, as will the depth of no more than 1.20 m.
In the last year, the filter system and the engine had brought us some problems, and this caused the water to break down easily and be damaged almost without knowing why. The parts of the engine had become a bit obsolete, and it was difficult to find a spare. For these reasons we have decided to renew it. The filtering system will be different, more modern, and optimal, but you won’t notice it. On the other hand, what will be obvious will be the color, as this time the walls will be dark, just as the change in the staircase will be obvious, as it will be sunk, and it will be progressively accessed to the bottom.
The works began last Tuesday, November 2, and in principle on Wednesday the 10th it must be finished. We hope so. We are very eager to see the final result, and also to show you how it turned out, but in the meantime, we can advance some photos of the works. Give it a play, and start enjoying!
